Frequently asked questions
At KMG Japan, you can start training from the age of 14.
It's best to join a beginners class.
In Nakameguro, shows are at 7:15pm on Mondays and Thursdays, 6:45pm on Fridays, and 10am on Saturdays.
In Yokohama, it's on Tuesdays at 7:15pm.
At the Nakameguro dojo, we only accept soft-soled wrestling shoes or bare feet as training takes place on the mat.
Please wear indoor training shoes (sneakers) at the Yokohama Studio. Please refrain from wearing shoes without spikes and with black soles. If you do not have them, you may use your own sneakers for the first session only, but please clean the soles of your shoes to keep the studio floor clean.
Please bring a t-shirt and long training pants or shorts with leggings underneath
The free trial is 1 hour. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time.
To become a member you must come to one of our dojos and pay a membership fee.
The minimum training period to become an instructor is approximately two years.
The minimum training period to become an expert is around 6-7 years.
Of course you can, don't worry as many people who start Krav Maga have no experience with other martial arts.
If you are a full-time vocational school student (nursing school, etc.) with a student ID issued by a school corporation, you are eligible. (Audit students are not eligible.) If you attend a bookkeeping vocational school a few times a week, you are not eligible.
Yes, you can. Our members can attend either the Nakameguro dojo or the Yokohama studio.
